We are proud to announce that Space4CC will take part in the upcoming open access lecture series “Beyond academia: HEI and society collaboration in response to the Ukrainian cultural heritage crisis”. This initiative is part of the Data4UA project (Capacity building for data-driven cultural heritage management in Ukraine), aimed at creating meaningful synergies between higher education institutions and society to protect Ukraine’s cultural heritage in these challenging times.

As part of this collaboration, partners will develop online and onsite open access lectures that will be integrated into existing higher education courses and programs. These lectures will address various dimensions of cultural heritage management in crisis situations, including:

– the impact of the war on Ukrainian cultural heritage;

– the evolving role of higher education institutions in cultural heritage studies in Ukraine;

– the critical value of space data and Earth observation technologies for monitoring and safeguarding cultural heritage under threat.

In October, Space4CC will present an exciting online open lecture titled “Empowering cultural heritage management in Ukraine with Earth observation data and citizen science”

The lecture will feature:

Bente Lilja Bye, Co-Founder of Space4CC, and

Dr. Kateryna Boichenko, Researcher at Space4CC.

Stay tuned for more details on how to join this insightful event and learn how Earth observation and citizen science can play a pivotal role in protecting Ukraine’s invaluable cultural heritage!
